Super Mario Galaxy Film Trailer Is Here, Unveiling Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Actors

The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.

The follow-up to the 2023 hit film The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will propel Mario to the outer limits of the cosmos. In his journey, he meets a fresh princess character and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.

A Cosmic Adventure Based on Iconic Releases

Much like the Wii console classics that serve as its inspiration, Mario will depart from the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a fan favorite from the original cinematic release.

However, it seems Mario and his sibling Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who seemingly wields metal-based powers. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

Star-Studded Voice Cast Returns and Expands

The feature will see the return of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.

A Significant Period for Mario

The new Mario movie is scheduled to arrive around the time of the 40th anniversary of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 looks set to be a major period for Mario and his companions.

Nintendo has a set of three fresh titles publicly declared for the upcoming year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a release on Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Launch Date Set

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
