The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received broad praise, notably for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures reached a high of nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, regardless of its fanfare, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over some of the game's most difficult challenges, which are required to access certain guns.
Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions set up using Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how arduous these missions have become.
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the frequently updated everyday and weekly missions. There are four types of assignments, but where most only reward outfits and select equipment, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one main guns present in the game.
Several of these restricted firearms might eventually earn a place on lists of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
On Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. One user pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
"This mission is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to gouge my eyes out," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, firing an LMG without aiming is wildly inaccurate and is effective only at point-blank proximity, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
A different forum member highlighted a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:
This is challenging enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it restricts you to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and perhaps an additional option in a best-case scenario if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.
There is a workaround though: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.
However, when completing the missions in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an atypical style that harms both you and your squad, who can fault a player for completing them in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
It won't come as a surprise if several of these tasks are toned down in the near future, because unless they are modified, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the locked firearms.
For now, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these demanding multiplayer missions, expecting a more balanced player experience in coming revisions.
